About Owl City

Owl City is American electronic/synthpop multi-instrumentalist Adam Young who hails from Owatonna, Minnesota.

Between 2005 and 2009 Young built a solid fanbase on myspace.com, uploading music he had written and recorded in his parent's basement. Young, suffering from insomnia often worked at night. 'Fireflies', the global hit that brought Owl City to the attention of the pop world is "a little song about bugs and not being able to fall asleep at night."

The music of Owly City has often been compared to that of The Postal Service and Daft Punk as well as 1980s synthpop bands The Human League and New Order.
