devon bonnie michael and kitt have just arrived on the circus grounds in a small town where the workers and performers are getting ready for the opening devon and the founder of circus major were in the service in france...
...the war gunther major's two children peter and terry are the star attractions of the circus while peter is doing a triple somersault on the trapeze he seems to lose his balance he misses the catcher's hands and plummets to his death devon has the nagging feeling that it was not an accident and asks michael and kitt to join the circus to find out who killed peter and the person behind the scheme to have the circus go bankrupt
