Kanye West is a rapper, singer and record producer originally from Atlanta, Georgia although he grew up in Chicago.

West rose to prominence as a producer in the late nineties working with artists including Jermaine Dupri and Foxy Brown. In 2000 he first worked for Damon Dash and Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records. His work on Jay-Z's 'Blueprint' established Kanye as one of the hottest hip-hop producers.

In 2004 came Kanye West's debut album 'The College Dropout', it was followed a year later by 'Late Registration'.
