About Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas are an American hip-hop collective, formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1995. The core group comprises will.i.am (real name: William Adams), apl.de.ap (real name: Allan Pineda) Taboo (real name: Jaime Gomez) and Fergie (full name: Stacey Ann Ferguson).

The group scored their first worldwide hit with 'Where Is the Love?' in 2003

The roots of The Black Eyed Peas date back to a trio named Atban Klann who were signed to Eazy-E's Ruthless Records in 1992. In 1995 the group renamed themselves Black Eyed Pods and were joined by Taboo. It wasn't until Fergie joined the band in 2002 that the line-up finally gelled and the group became The Black Eyed Peas.

In 2009 the band became one of a small select group who have simultaneously held the top and second spots on the US Billboard Chart with the single releases 'Boom Boom Pow' and 'I Gotta Feeling'.
