Cheryl Cole (previously known as Cheryl Tweedy) is a singer and dancer from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the North-East of England.
Tweedy rose to fame when she took part in filmed auditions for the 2002 ITV reality show 'Popstars: The Rivals'.
Tweedy was eventually selected as one of five girls to form the girl group 'Girls Aloud'. Tweedy joined Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh in the band who scored major UK hits with the singles 'Sound Of The Underground', 'I'll Stand By You' and 'Love Machine'.
In 2006 Cheryl Tweedy married England footballer Ashley Cole. They divorced in 2010.
From 2008-2010 Cheryl Cole was a judge on the ITV show 'The X-Factor'. She featured in one episode of the US version of the show in 2010 before being controversially axed.
