...entrepreneurship this revolution of listening to and considering younger generations is more essential than ever — because in the lead up to the european elections the european project has lost momentum — because the defiance of citizens – particularly younger citizens – to the political world is reaching dangerous heights — because the temptations of populism and cultural isolationism are gaining momentum all over europe culture innovation and youth are weapons of mass construction for europe in the recovery of its project and dream we must ensure that cultural policies in europe escape the institutional system and invent new models the opportunity to give a voice to new leading generations is partly due to the acceleration of a largely shared perception of an ever-changing world changes in the cultural field are the backbone of the european lab and more precisely changes in the music industry which got through the digital revolution as though it went through a cyclone but beyond this sectorial issue lie the changes in distribution knowledge sharing education training the circulation of information the role of the media project construction approaches collective and political life citizenship uses practices and the invention of the cities of tomorrow these themes are tackled throughout the year across the whole of europe going beyond its immediate borders — at the european lab a large gathering that takes place every year in lyon alongside the nuits sonores festival — at the european lab sessions which now take place regularly in europe in collaboration with other platforms networks and festivals these new modules aim to reinforce the european lab’s international network and connect cultural change-makers a session is organised each year in morocco as part of nuits sonores tangier and will focus on professional exchanges and trans-mediterranean cultural issues in 2014 the european lab sessions will also spread out to eurosonic netherlands bylarm norway and lyon just to name a few as part of the special conferences organised outside of the forum
