Foster the People are an indie band from Los Angeles, California.
The band comprise Mark Foster (vocals, piano & guitar), Mark Pontius (drums), and Cubbie Fink (bass). They formed in October 2009, originally calling themselves Foster & The People, intending to push the talent and charisma of their lead singer. However, the name was mis-heard and mis-quoted and the new name stuck.
