Plankton Productions was founded in 2006 by Lars Thorn and based Stockholm, Sweden. Thorn had previously worked in the aviation industry, working as a Captain for Ryanair. Plankton Productions early success was built on the popularity of their 'Best Of YouTube' video podcast.
