About HBO Podcasts

HBO, short for Home Box Office, is an American premium cable television network, owned by Time Warner. It was lauched in 1972 with a commitment to broadcast movies and live sport. In 1975, HBO became the first TV network to continuously deliver signals via satellite when it showed the "Thrilla in Manila" boxing-match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.

In the 1990s HBO started to invest in original programming, developing The Larry Sanders Show, Mr. Show and Tales From The Crypt. Subsequent successes include Larry David's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', Ricky Gervais' 'Extras', 'The Sopranos' and 'The Wire'.
