About Take That

Take That are five-piece boy band comprising Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams.

They were formed in Manchester in 1989 by pop music entrepreneur Nigel Martin-Smith whose vision was to create an English version of New Kids On The Block.

Take That's early canon mixed high-energy dance tracks with adult contemporary ballads, most of them penned by Gary Barlow.

Take That were Britain's leading pop act in the early nineties. Robbie Williams left in 1995 and the group split a year later.

Following the screening of the ITV documentary 'Take That: For the Record' in 2005 the group reformed to record and tour again. Robbie Williams rejoined the group in July 2010.
