Englishwoman Lily Allen is best known as a pop singer. In 2005 she signed a record deal on the back of the massive popularity of songs she had written, recored and made avaiable via myspace.com
Her early singles 'Smile' and 'LDN' were bouncy pop tunes inflected with traces of reggae and ska. In cointrast her second album 'It's Not You, It's Me' and the singles 'The Fear' and 'Not Fair' were more edgy electropop.
After 'retiring' from music in 2010 Lily launched a clothing store with her sister called 'Lucy In Disguise'.
In 2007 Allen was romantically involved with Ed Simons of dance duo, The Chemical Brothers. She married builder Sam Cooper in 2011. Lily is the daughter of Welsh actor Keith Allen.
