About Duran Duran

Duran Duran are an English New Romantic band formed in Birmingham in 1978. Led by singer Simon Le Bon the band achieved a string of hit singles in the early eigthies with 'Planet Earth', 'Girls On Film', 'Save A Prayer', 'The Reflex' and many others. They recorded the them song for the James Bond filem 'A View To A Kill'.

The core of ther group, along with Le Bon, consists of keyboardist Nick RHodes, guitarist Andy Taylor and bassist John Taylor (no relation).

The band enjoyed a rise in prominence in the 2000s with many contemporary acts citing them as an influence. Their Nile Rodgers-produced track 'Notorious' featured promientnly in the 2001 movie 'Donnie Darko'.
